A Quick Guide on the 5 Most Common Brewing Methods

Method 1
Drip Coffee Maker
Water-to-Coffee Ratio: 1:16 - 1 gram of coffee per 16 grams of water (0.55 ounces).
Brew Time: 4 to 6 minutes
Grind: Use medium grind coffee for even extraction and a clean, balanced flavor.

Method 2
French Press

Brew Time: 4 minutes
Grind: Use coarse ground coffee and stir gently after adding hot water to ensure full saturation. Press the plunger slowly to avoid over-extraction.

Method 3
Pour Over

Brew Time: 3 to 4 minutes
Grind: Use medium-fine coffee grounds and pour water in a circular motion for consistent brewing. Allow the coffee to bloom for 30 seconds before starting the main pour.

Espresso
Water-to-Coffee Ratio: 1:2 - 1 gram of coffee per 2 grams of water (0.07 ounces).
Brew Time: 25 to 30 seconds
Grind: Use finely ground coffee and ensure the espresso machine’s pressure is set to 9 bars for optimal extraction.

Method 5
Moka Pot
Water-to-Coffee Ratio: Fill the bottom chamber with water to the safety valve and use 1 gram of coffee per 7 grams of water (0.25 ounces).
Brew Time: 4 to 5 minutes
